On Saturday I will leav England and Queenswood after four weeks. I really enjoyed beeing her.
I remember the first day which was very chaotic. I was very impressed and maybe a little bit shy but I was very exited . Now I feel more confident and I improved my English. I also found new friends with who Iwill keep in touch because (maybe)we will meet next week . I also liked the activities. I had pro tennis for four weeks and I had a lot of fun doing it. The trainers were great and nice and especially on Sundays the training was very good. At first I didn't like the food. I mean I don't like the food now but it is ok. Of course I am happy when I am back home with my family but I will miss the life here, because the last two weeks were just like "normal". The lessons were g0od and we had a lot of fun.
Ididn't like that we had to wake up at 7.00 in the morning. I think when I am back at home I will sleep the whole day because I am so tierd.
The workhops were also really good. I had drama and Business English. In drama we made a play about greek gods and godesses and in busuiness english we had to do a powerpoint presentation about one company we like.
The most thing will miss are all this nice people and my 'new' friends but I am very happy to see my friends in Germany when I arrive there.
I will miss this place <3 :(

Life in the 16th century
If I had lived in the 16th century life would be very different to our life today.
Dear Diary,
today I woke up and I was in an different world. I was in a dirty room with a small bed with a desk and a chair. Nobody was in there. When I went through the door I came in a room where lots of people were sitting on a table. They were looking at me. An old woman asked me why I got up so late? was it because you had to milk the cows? She said. I was really confused so she comanded me to eat my breakfast and then go to my work.It was uneatable dry, grey bread. After I ate this the woman told me to wash the dirty clothes in the river, so I went outside with a basket of clothes. There I saw the village. Very nice but also dirty and people with animals everywhere. On the fields there were men with steers loosing the arable soil. Most of the people were doing some agriculture. I saw the old houses and the nice landscape. When I reached the river and started to wash the clothes I knew that this is going to be hard work.

Saturday in London
On Saturday all the lines students went to London again. First we visited the science museum. My friends and I went to the area about the future. There was a game which we played all the time.
After that we went to the coach and drove to the Westfield Centre to go shopping. It was great because the centre is so big but because of that we hadn't enough time(just two hours) to go around. I didn't bought aything for me. I bought a scarf and two t-shirts for my friends at home and tea for my parents. At 3.15 we had to meet outside the centre to drive back to Queenswood but one person was missing so we had to wait and after one hour we knew that this person was in the wrong coach so we could start to drive. In the coach most of th people were sleeping because the shopping trip was so hard.
Back at Queenswood and after dinner we had a disco in the dinning room but I didn't went there because last time the music was very bad and I was very tierd so I went to bed early.

Shakespeare's Globe
On Wednesday we visited London again. We went to Shakespeare's Globe theatre, a modern reconstruction from the 16th century. It was very interesting what the tour guide told us about the construction. For example the roof was built to protect the clothes from the water and the sun. The water would wash out and the sun would bleach the colour. They first thought about the clothes than they coloured the roof as decoration in an dark blue so they could start a play wich plays in the evening at the afternoon because people had a long way to the theatre and if the play would be in the evening the people had to go home in the middle of the night.
In the 16th century a ticket to get into the theatre had cost 1 penny but today one ticket costs 5 pounds. The audiences must stand in front of he stage (they can't sit) and even if it rains the play doesn't stop, so the audiences had to be prepared for bad/good weather because the roof is just over the stage. The theatre works without lights and sound effects, so if the play is in the evening or night they have just small lights to illuminate the stage. The acters also use no microphones so they have to speak very loud.
So I think it would be very interesting to go to one of the Shakespeare's plays in the Globe theatre so maybe after you read this you will go and find out more about shakespeare.

Cambridge
On Saturday we went to Cambridge. At first we were punting on the Cam. That was really fun because of our punter who was telling jokes and stuff about the city.
After that we had time to go around Cambridge. Most of the students went shopping but I was hungry so I went to a shop and ate a panini. We had a lot of time so we didn't know what to do. We took a walk through Cambridge and were happy when we were sitting in the coach to drive home. At return I was sleeping the whole time because I was soooo tired.

The Assembly
On Friday night all people met at the theater to show their performances to the jury.. The winning class (JAmes and Mary ) got a box with sweets. They performed a talent show.
With my dramaclass we made a sketch about Greek Gods and Godesses. That was very funny.

England vs. Germany
It is very funny to be here in England, because there are so many differences between England and Germany.
For example the cars drive on the other side, the red busses and black taxis, the money and so on. The weather is bad, so most of the time it is raining.
This summer we had 35degrees in my city. They have miles and we have kilometers so the Germans detect in kilometers per hour ( km/h) and the english people detect in miles per hour(mph).
When it is 12o'clock in England it's 1o'clock p.m. in Germany.
England has a beautiful landscape but is also very busy.

Bartels go London
Yesterday we went to London by coach. At first we had a little tour with a guid through London . We saw the Big Ben, the times square, changing of the Guard, Westminster abbeythe St James' Park ect. At the times square therre was a woman on a platform who throew some airplanes of paper around. That was very strange, because I never had seen something like that before.
Then we drove to the british Museum. There we had 1 1/2 hours to go around the museum and find out things in witch we are intrested in.
After dinner here in Queenswood, my friends and I, we had a Pro Tennis lesson. That was very interessting and we had a lot of fun.
